Tour of the Fredericton Botanic Gardens will begin at 11:30 at the Resource Centre, Fredericton Botanic Garden (FBGA), 10 Cameron Court-this is the entrance off Hanwell Road,(the lower end of the garden), Steve Heard, FBGA Board Member and Past President, will give the tour.
Fredericton North donated funding for the Food Forest that helped get it started. We will be shown how the Food Forest is doing -among many other Garden treasures. The Environment Committee also has plans to help with the eradication of the multi-flora rose at the garden.

Director of the New Brunswick Invasive Species Council
Jennifer Yamazaki is the Director of the New Brunswick Invasive Species Council (NBISC), a nonprofit organization that works to prevent and manage invasive species across the province through education, outreach, and partner coordination. Jennifer leads many of NBISC’s public engagement initiatives, including the PlantWise program, which encourages gardeners, landscapers, and communities to choose non-invasive plants and promote native and low-risk alternatives. She regularly delivers presentations and workshops to garden clubs, community groups, and environmental organizations across New Brunswick, helping audiences identify common invasive plants and adopt practical gardening practices that protect local ecosystems. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors near Lake George. |

Speaker, writer and sustainability consultant Carl Duivenvoorden – a 2023 Paul Harris Fellow – has been an electric vehicle driver since 2017. Last year, he and his family made an epic 16,000 km trip to Victoria, BC in their 2019 Chevy Bolt.
He’ll be joining us to share his experience (and savings) driving electric; explain all about EVs present and future; and answer any questions.
